Description:
This three-day course with James Hawkins and Ryan Rana aims to provide advanced emotionally focused therapists with specialized training in two crucial areas: working with vulnerability and managing reactivity in a clinical setting. The course will equip therapists with advanced techniques for managing reactivity, enabling them to navigate intense emotional responses and maintain therapeutic progress effectively. Through theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and case studies, attendees will refine their skills and gain valuable insights to elevate their practice in emotionally focused therapy. By integrating cultural considerations into emotionally focused therapy, therapists can provide more effective and empathetic care, fostering deeper connections and promoting healing within a culturally diverse client population. Throughout the training, Ryan and James will integrate cultural lessons from case studies and questions solicited from participants. There will also be an intentional section to engage in role-playing exercises to practice culturally responsive interventions and enhance therapists' skills in managing culturally influenced emotional and relational dynamics.
Pre-Reqs: Must have attended an EFT Externship and have attended or be working through Core Skills.
This training has been approved for 18 CEUs by the MN Board of MFT including 3 cultural competency hours. Check with your board to see if you can transfer CEUs if you have a different credential. See the LE training website for more detail for psychologists.

Whirlyball, a wild mix of bumper cars, lacrosse, and basketball, is happening from 6-7 PM. Thursday: Start your day refreshed with yoga at 7 AM in the ballroom, led by the amazing Khara Hesse. Don't forget your mat! Then, after the day's training, gear up for an epic game night at 6 PM in the ballroom. Indulge in a taco bar at 6:30 PM. While a few board games will be provided, feel free to bring your own to share. Be sure to label them so they return home with you!
Friday: After the training wraps up, keep the energy going at Chevy's for happy hour! Although this isn't covered in the registration, it's a great chance to relax, connect, and enjoy some food and drinks on your own before heading home (the expense is on you).
