Description of the 3 day Leading Edge Retreat
This three-day course aims to provide advanced emotionally focused therapists with specialized training in two crucial areas: working with vulnerability and managing reactivity in a clinical setting. The course will equip therapists with advanced techniques for managing reactivity, enabling them to navigate intense emotional responses and maintain therapeutic progress effectively. Through theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and case studies, attendees will refine their skills and gain valuable insights to elevate their practice in emotionally focused therapy.
By integrating cultural considerations into emotionally focused therapy, therapists can provide more effective and empathetic care, fostering deeper connections and promoting healing within a culturally diverse client population. Throughout the training, the presenters will integrate cultural lessons from case studies and questions solicited from participants. There will also be an intentional section to engage in role-playing exercises to practice culturally responsive interventions and enhance therapists' skills in managing culturally influenced emotional and relational dynamics.
